Cheap Thrills owner Rob Walsh ran Boston’s Tower Records superstore on Newbury Street throughout the 1990’s. He’s been in this spot on the Dedham/West Roxbury line since 2002 and still uses old display racks he salvaged from Tower’s collapse a year earlier.
This place is packed to the rafters and piles overflow the racks in every direction. It’s a legit challenge to get through the front door, much less move around. The trade off is there are a lot of great used records here and what he puts out is in great shape and reasonably priced. Rob’s full of great stories and is extremely knowledgeable but not overbearing and doesn’t push records on you.
